Our Ministries!
Small Group
Small Groups are where our large church gets small. Groups are typically 3-10 people, and these students meet to discuss faith, go deeper into a weekly scripture passage, and support one another in their relationship with Christ. This is the place to care for others and be cared for. Please click the link below to get a better scope of what small groups are and get assigned to a small group today!
Emmaus Project
Are you new to the VCU community and need someone to walk with? In Luke 24 Jesus models for us the importance of walking and listening to one another as we navigate through life’s various triumphs and struggles. Our Emmaus Project will focus on creating a 1 on 1 student pairing that will meet on a frequent basis and together they will walk the road towards Christ. If you are an undergraduate student, click the link below and you will be paired with one of our CCM student leaders who will personally accompany you on your journey of faith!
Catechesis
The ministry of catechesis helps college students develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Christian community, and increase their knowledge of the core content of the Catholic faith. The ministry of catechesis also helps students enrich and expand their understanding of the Scriptures and the sacred tradition. This in turn helps them live more faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ. Catechesis happens on the first and third Tuesday of every month!
Prayer Groups
Our CCM program offers a variety of opportunities for students to encounter God through prayer! We encourage students to grow closer to Jesus through Mary at our Thursday Rosary offering. On Mondays, students can actively seek God’s mercy through our Divine Mercy prayer group. We also have the blessed chance of adoring our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, every Wednesday. Please see our calendar to see when our next prayer gathering is!
Other Ministerial Offerings
Men’s & Women’s Groups
This group typically meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Students can have an open discussion about a specific faith topic with other members of the same gender.
Community Service
CCM truly values the importance of serving the members of our community. Our social justice chair faithfully sets our students up for a variety of service opportunities throughout the semester in the city of Richmond.
Sunday Supper
On the first and third Sunday of every month, students are invited to the Parish Hall for dinner and fellowship after the 5 pm Mass! The meal is free and this is a great opportunity to connect with other students of faith.
Fellowship Nights!
Looking for fellowship and fun conversation around a bonfire? Maybe you are looking to show others what you’ve got at one of our karaoke nights. Join us on the 4th Thursday of every month for one of our social nights.
Retreats & Conferences
Students always need opportunities to break away from campus and experience Christ in a more intentional and relaxing setting. Check out our calendar to see our various retreat and conference offerings.
A House that is open to you!
Desperately need a place of refuge that is dedicated to recharging your day? Students have access to our CCM House every Monday-Thursday from 10am-6pm. It is one of the only places on campus where you can pray before the Lord and play one of your fellow classmates in game of cards!
